the day is done and the battle was lost
and all that's left is the reality
that my best was still not enough
but after the sorrow and bitterness subside
upon the acceptance of my tragic fate
i hold my head up high
without regret
and with hope in my heart
for as i stand up once more
i know that i am stronger
and when tomorrow comes
i will be a step closer
to my destiny.
